Prompts to help players pray

  • How did Mary discover that God was with her? How do you know God is with you?
  • Say “thank you” to Jesus for the ways he is good news to you.
  • Create ways to tell God how amazing he is, just like the angels.
  • The shepherds went back excitedly telling everyone they met what had happened. What can you share about this story?

Prompts to help players ponder the great things of God

  • Why do you think God came to the earth as a baby, rather than as a king or a superhero?
  • The first visitors to Jesus are very poor shepherds. What does that say about God?
  • Do you know any newborn babies? Imagine God becoming like them. How extraordinary is that?!

Prompts to help players explore the Bible story

  • Imagine Mary, soon to have her baby, travelling for several days to Bethlehem, not finding somewhere to sleep.
  • Do you think the shepherds were more shocked by the brightness of the angels appearing or by their message?
  • Imagine Mary, with her brand-new baby, and a crowd of rough shepherds piling into the room telling an amazing story!
